Congrats on the new job. As I live in YQR (and I fly mucho), I fly in the CRJ and CRA all the time. I have a question for you: after the gear is down and the aircraft is quite close to landing (maybe 30-60 seconds away), there is a chirping-type sound that can be heard in the cabin (maybe as far back as row 2 or 3): what does that indicate?
Many people complain about the CRJ, but I quite like the aircraft.
Hi Arf, Thanks for your comment. The RJ chirps could be a couple things. One of which is the Altitude Alerter. We would have this set to the altitude we're going to climb to in the event of a missed approach. As the gear comes down and we descend away from that set altitude, it chirps at us 300' below whatever it is set at, and once more 1000' below. The other thing it could be is the autopilot disconnecting. Whenever we disconnect the autopilot, it makes a loud noise to make sure we know to fly the airplane. It sounds stupid, but if you check this post out on the crash of Eastern Air Flight 401, you'll see why such an alert exists.

The photos of the CRJ and CRA here are terrific. I think both are very attractive aircraft, especially from straight in front. They are much better looking that the fat guppy-like planes the other guys fly (I will be on a couple of those tomorrow, alas).

RIMPAC is a biennial, multi-national exercise designed to strengthen regional partnerships and improve multinational interoperability. I have attached a link to the photos and cut lines.
