Summer's End

We can't hold out any longer. Recently BC has started being over run with one system after another moving in off the coast. Time to warm up the deicing trucks and start packing toques and mitts. Winter's a comin.....

Some snowy peaks near Kemess. This valley, The McConnell, named for the lake in the foreground (or, maybe the lake is named for the valley??), is just east of Moose valley and Kemess mine. It contains a small gold mine operation which is family owned and operated.
The McConnell Valley

The other day we ran into some icing on our way to Vancouver at 23,000'. The Windshield heat is slightly less effective at our cruising speed of over 200KIAS at that altitude.
This is a storm I shot many photos of on our while flying into Vancouver. I suppose there isn't much wintery about it. I just thought the photos were neat.

Looks pretty cool from the air.

Enjoy your site, BTW. I came across it last summer while looking for a Bob Quinn weather forecast... :-P

Cheers,
